Robotic Arm
I promised my team a blackbox, which would sit on their turntable and move a soft gripper around. I did brainstorm at early stage, but didn’t come up with any design. I had empty brains.
In next several weeks, I was in a “eternal recurrence”.
Could not sleep at night -> A design came to my mind -> Attempt made -> Problem detected -> Could not sleep at night -> Let go the problematic design -> Could not sleep at night.
At last, I came up with, had a try, and finally dismissed all other five designs in the picture. In the end, the center design survived my test and was chosen as final design.
This design looked simple, and even silly. In the “eternal recurrance”, I had always believed that the solution would be very complicated. I didn’t know it could be that simple.
